Research interest
My primary research interests are: 1) retroviral infections (HIV-1, HIV-2 and SIV), and 2) emerging viruses, including arboviruses and respiratory viruses.
Regarding retroviral infections, I am investigating the impact of polymorphisms and drug-resistance associated mutations on integration and susceptibility to new antiretroviral drugs (capsid inhibitors, integrase inhibitors: INSTI and ALLINI).
I am also involved in clinical studies that aim to improve the diagnosis of emerging viruses using new technologies, such as high-throughput sequencing after viral capture and multiplex PCR. I also work on identifying biomarkers associated with specific pathogens.
