Statistical Modelling and Clinical Investigation in Infectious Diseases

Our team focuses on the development of biostatistical methods to analyze clinical data in infectious diseases. We design, conduct and analyze clinical trials and cohorts to better understand variability in responses to antimicrobial agents, assess epidemiological trends, and improve prognostic evaluations of infectious diseases. These developments are supported by a strong expertise in pharmacometrics, where we develop models to characterize host/pathogen/drug interactions, ranging from theoretical mathematical modeling to clinical investigation. The complexity of these models drives our methodological and statistical innovations.

Our research thus bridges theoretical and clinical applications. To adress these broad objectives, the team has four research axes defined as follows:

• Axis 1. Methods in pharmacometrics (lead Julie Bertrand)
• Axis 2. Mathematical modelling of pathogen dynamics (lead Jérémie Guedj)
• Axis 3. Clinical trial methodology and investigations in severe or emerging infectious diseases (lead Xavier Duval and Cédric Laouénan)
• Axis 4. Healthcare associated infections (lead Solen Kernéis and Jean-François Timsit)
